My Winter Nail Care

Disclaimer: I was not paid in any to do this. All opinions are 100% Mine

Hello Everyone. I was so happy to get contacted by Julep's Community Outreach Coordinator, who was looking for bloggers to share tips on how they winterize their nails. They included a great tutorial of their own, which includes six steps great tips on how to winterize your nails.

First off I want to tell you all that I haven't painted my nail or did anything to them in a month. As an active nail polish wearer. I think it great to give your nails a break here and there. To help them stay healthy. I'm going to share with you my 7 tips on how I winterize my nails.

The items I use to take care of my nail are the following.
~Nail clippers
~Nail File
~ A mild hand soap. For soaking my nails
~Shea butter hand cream
~Cuticle pusher

Step 1~ Remove your nail polish if you have any on. Then cut your finger nail. I do this once a month. If you don't want to cut your nail then you can move on to step two.

Step 2~ Use the nail file and shape you nails to your liking.

Step 3~ Put warm water in a bowl with you favorite hand soap. The soap I'm using is Bath and Body Work Paris Armour. After soaking you nail dry your hands off.

Step 4~ Use the cuticle pusher and push your cuticle back.

Step 5~ Moisturize you hands with you favorite lotion. The hand lotion I'm using is True Blue Shea Cashmere Hand Cream.

Step 6~ Pick the polish you want to use for your nails.

Step 7~ Use you favorite Base Coat.  My favorite base/top coat is the Sally Hansen it the Ultimate Shield Base and Top Coat. It dry very quick.  After I put one layer on the base coat on. Then I added two coats of Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant in 305 Or you can use Julep nail polish in Lacey. Another great blue from Julep is Trina Turk from there fall 2012 in Gunta. After I let the Covergirl polish dry. I used one coat of Spoiled by Wet n Wild in S068 Jewelry Heist on my middle and ring finger.

Since today is the only day I have painted my nails. This is also my monthly nail recap post as well.

    1. I would have loved to have paint my nail more but this month was super busy with moving stuff away. So I had no time to sit down and so them. I was going to do pink but decide to do a different color.

  10. This is a great nail tutorial, Amy! I just picked up some cuticle pushers and a brush for nail stuff last night :) I'm trying to get more serious about nail care this winter because my hands have been so dry and stuff. I haven't tried Julep yet but I keep hearing great things! I hope you're having a great day!
